ThinLinc now available on Solaris - version 1.3.2 is released
ThinLinc is a terminal server, which is to say a server software which handles server-based computing and thin clients. ThinLinc consists of a number of components which together make it possible to centralize computer services and applications. Cendio also provides ThinLinc Client Operating System (TLCOS) which turns old PCs into thin clients and SafeLinc, which enables secure file and printer access over unsafe networks.
ThinLinc - now available on Solaris The most important changes in ThinLinc 1.3.2 is the enhanced support for more operating systems. Cendio has, together with the Technical University of Denmark, developed ThinLinc for Solaris. The ThinLinc server is now supported for:
* Solaris 8 and later * RedHat 7.3 and 9 * Fedora Core 2 *SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and SuSE 9.1 * Debian
Enhanced Sound Support In the new version there has been prominent enhancements for sound support. Among other things microphones may be used on all Linux Clients. The support for redirection of sound from Windows Terminal Server has improved significantly.
Enhanced Integration with Novell ThinLinc now fully supports mounts home catalogs from NDS via both NCP and NFS. Forcing password changes in e-directory is also completely supported.
