Get all the benefits of Server Based Computing at a very competitive price!

Since ThinLinc to a large extent is made up of Open Source software, the system can be offered at a very competitive price. The fact that ThinLinc is a complete system in itself means that there is no need to run any other Windows-based system for server-based computing, and if there is no need for Windows applications at all, there is no need to even run a Windows Terminal Server, which means that it's possible to save on licencing fees.

Since all applications are run on a central server, it's possible to cut costs for technical support and system administration.

Competitive price

ThinLinc is largely based on Open Source software, which makes an aggressive pricing possible since the cost of development and maintenance has been kept down. The quality of Open Source software is also very high, which contributes to less time being needed for debugging.

Saved licencing fees

ThinLinc is a stand-alone system which doesn't require any other programs to run than the software that comes with the system. This means that if, for instance, a company or organization doesn't need to use Windows applications, there is no need for a Windows Terminal Server, which saves licencing fees.

ThinLinc also uses a dynamic license handling, which means that a company doesn't need to purchase a license over-capacity. If the number of users exceed the number of purchased licenses, no-one is locked out of the system. The excess number of users is logged in order that more licenses can be purchased to cover the new needs. This system ensures that no-one is prevented from working due to a lack of user licenses.

Other advantages

Since all users run the programs on central application servers you no longer need to install and upgrade software on the workstations. All technical support and system administration is limited to the central servers, which can cut support costs for companies, especially if they have offices in several cities.

Since the client application is small and uses few resources, it is possible to use older hardware, which may give new life to an old computer farm and save on, or postpone, a costly investment in new computers. ThinLinc Client Operating System is a minimal Linux distribution which makes thin clients of older workstation. It's bundled with ThinLinc at no extra cost.
