The shadow notification is not displayed when another app is running in fullscreen. This includes tl-run-windesk. The effect is that users of Windows desktops does not get any shadowing notification. 

I guess that the way to solve this is to switch rdesktop to EWMH fullscreen.

Now after bug 37 has been implemented this also applies for the shadowing confirmation dialogue.
