Description Samuel Mannehed cendio 2016-10-11 15:59:12 CEST
Currently we display a page at the start of our package install script and at the start of tl-setup. It can be argued that this could be made more difficult to miss.

One solution could be to add a specific page for platform specific notes at the start of either the package installer or tl-setup that requires the administrator to confirm (perhaps using a checkbox) that he has read the notes.

Another solution could be to have one of the installation scripts automatically open the platform specific notes in a browser.

This is what is written at the start of the ThinLinc server package installer:

> Welcome to the ThinLinc Server Installation Wizard
> ==================================================
>
> This program will help you install the ThinLinc software packages on
> your system.
>
> Before installing, please see the Platform Specific Notes at
> https://www.cendio.com/thinlinc/docs
>
> Press Enter to continue...
>
> Determining packages to install... done.

The text at the start of tl-setup is very similar to this.

Ideas to improve this:

 - A separate page/step in tl-setup/tlinstaller. Perhaps with some kind of icon showing that this is an important step.

 - The error message from tl-setup could include a link.

 - The installation chapter from the TAG should have a link.

 - Perhaps we should have a separate installation guide that includes this.
