ThinLinc
Most enterprises and organizations have
different needs and systems. ThinLinc is designed with this in mind,
and the system architecture allows for an existing infrastructure to be
maintained while the new architecture is gradually introduced to the
organization. The system can be launched along side the existing
systems for a gradual migration to a new platform. The idea is that the
computing infrastructure should adapt to the processes instead of the
opposite.
ThinLinc will act as a link or gateway between the existing
systems, and the product can be introduced on a step-by-step basis
within the organization. In this manner, different parts of the
organization with different needs can be handled in a systemized
manner.
ThinLinc can also be used to further consolidate the server park
with a more centralized solution in order to save costs. By
centralizing the server park with ThinLinc, other possibilities for
cutting down on expenditures are opened, mainly through less need for
on-site support for local servers, but also by offering employees a
more generalized workplace through the technology of thin clients.
The architecture is flexible in order to handle larger
organizations with "autonomous" office applications or functions, with
maintained management and security. The system can be supplemented with
an automatic system for installation, configuration and administration
of the client hardware, for instance through the use of PXE. It's also
possible to create different user groups. In this way departments with
special needs are easily administrated in the case of adaptations or
user-driven application development.
