Duplicated code happens easily, but is bad. I've found a nice tool which can detect & report such code blocks: Code Duplication Detector (CDD) from http://code.google.com/p/tctoolkit/. I did a quick testrun on some paths in our tree, and several problems were found. See attached HTML report. I think we should go through the different modules and, if easily done, remove the duplicated code.
