Cendio is proud to announce a new milestone in its collaboration with the Open OnDemand community: the integration of ThinLinc into the Open OnDemand ecosystem.
The announcement follows a series of presentations and discussions held during GOOD26 (Global Open OnDemand Conference), where Cendio participated as the event’s sole Platinum Sponsor and shared its vision for the future of interactive high-performance computing.
The initiative represents a significant step toward making graphical HPC workloads more accessible, flexible, and scalable for research institutions, enterprises, and cloud environments worldwide.

Initially driven by customer demand within Microsoft Azure environments, particularly deployments using Azure CycleCloud Workspace for Slurm, the integration’s impact extends far beyond a single platform.
By integrating ThinLinc with Open OnDemand, organizations gain an additional option for delivering graphical Linux applications and remote desktop experiences directly from their HPC environments, while maintaining the flexibility that has always been a hallmark of the Open OnDemand ecosystem.
According to Alan Chalker, Director of HPC Enablement for Open OnDemand, the collaboration reflects the project's longstanding commitment to openness, choice, and community-driven innovation.

At GOOD26, Cendio demonstrated the current beta implementation of ThinLinc for Open OnDemand, showcasing how users can launch and interact with graphical applications through a seamless workflow. The project builds on Cendio's long-standing expertise in remote Linux desktops and its active involvement in technologies such as TigerVNC and noVNC.
For both organizations, the partnership represents more than a technical integration. It reflects a shared vision of lowering barriers to advanced computing and creating more accessible pathways to innovation.
